When an employee leaves, their final settlement is calculated and the trustee approves it (see Benefit payments). The approved payment then comes to you to pay out from the trust.
Where: Benefits in the menu. Before you start: the employee needs a verified payment account.
The Approved payout queue lists each employee, their employer, the status and the amount still outstanding.
Check the payment
Select Review on the employee’s row.
Check the Due, Paid and Outstanding amounts, the trust it is paid from, and where it goes (Paid to and Destination account). Then choose:
- Part payment — pay part of the outstanding amount now. You enter the amount in the next step.
- Pay in Full — pay the whole outstanding amount.
Send the code and pay
Select Send code
A one-time code is sent by SMS, email and WhatsApp. Enter the 6-digit code
The code is valid for 60 seconds. If it expires, request another.
Select Execute payout
The payment is sent to the employee’s account and the amounts update.
The employee must have a verified payment account before you can pay them. Without one, Send code fails with Benefit payment conflict. A terminated employee’s record is locked, so the details cannot be edited now. Where SmartPay wallets are switched on, the platform opens a wallet on the employee’s registered phone when you pay; otherwise contact the platform’s technical team to correct the account. See SmartPay e-wallets.
What happens next
The amount paid comes out of the trust and off the employer’s liability. With a part payment, the rest stays in the queue as Outstanding until you pay it.
